Murder of Crows
July 2017
Fraser Gallery, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia with the Pugwash Artist Collective
Using the mythology and mystery of crows as inspiration, and the challenge of exploring the ‘Golden Ratio’, this eleven-member collective used a wide variety of media to explore their own interpretation of this theme. Some used woodcut, clay, and fibre arts such as rug hooking and quilting, while others chose to use paint, drawing and sculpture — all inviting viewers to explore the world of this most intelligent and crafty of birds.
I chose to treat each piece as if it was derived from a common fable.
